Rotraut Klein-Moquay is a German artist born in 1938. She is best known for her illustrations of children's books. She worked as an assistant to artist and designer Herbert Bayer, and later began to collaborate with renowned children's author and illustrator Tomi Ungerer.
Klein-Moquay has illustrated some of Ungerer's most famous books, such as "The Three Robbers" and "Moon Man". She has also illustrated books by other authors, including "Max and Moritz" by Wilhelm Busch and "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" by Robert Browning.
Her illustrations often feature brightly colored, whimsical characters that appeal to children. She has won several awards for her work, including the Austrian Children's Book Award for "The Three Robbers", and the German Youth Literature Award for "The Big Book of Fables".
